Sandra (Wiley) Hanna 2014

Sandra (Wiley) Hanna departed this earth at the age of 74 to join our Heavenly Father on April 3, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delsina Nicks and Henry Wiley; her devoted husband, Vernon F. Hanna; and her loving daughter, Denise LaVern Hanna Wilson. Sandra and Vernon met and were united in holy matrimony in Independence, Missouri. Two children were born to that union, Vernon Jr. and Denise. Sandra graduated William Chris-man High School (class of 1956) and graduated from the Jennie Lund School of Practical Nursing at Independence Sanitarium and Hospital. She was a dedicated operating room nurse at the Truman Medical Center East until her retirement on December 31, 2003.

Sandra leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory: Her son, Vernon Jr.; three grandchildren, Kiersten Hanna, Brock Hanna and Hannah Wilson; brother-in-law, Eudell Hannah; nieces, Goldie Hannah (Gary) Hall, Gloria Hannah Picazo and Roxanna Mayes; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lee (John) Stotts; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 11, at St. Paul AME Church, 200 East Lexington Avenue, Independence, Missouri 64050. Internment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul AME Church.
