Day 14 Explore Oxford Explore Oxford Destination: Oxford Meals included: B D
Breakfast: Served around 7am featuring British and American options. Morning: Around 9am, we'll embark on a 3-hour walking tour of the famous university town dominated by Oxford University and its more than 38 colleges and buildings spread throughout the city. The legendary colleges have been seats of learning for a long line of notable figures, including Oscar Wilde and Jonathan Swift. And more recently, several buildings served as settings for the Harry Potter films and the Inspector Morse television series. Alongside your Trip Experience Leader, we'll transport ourselves into the medieval splendor of Oxford, strolling its cobbled streets and marveling at the golden-hued ensemble of colleges and Gothic chapels. Around noon, you'll have the remainder of the afternoon free for your own discoveries. Lunch: On your own—ask your Trip Experience Leader for suggestions. Perhaps you'll get cozy in an old pub where you may strike up a conversation with local university students or professors. Afternoon: Free for your own discoveries—ask your Trip Experience Leader for recommendations. Perhaps you'll stroll along the river, or explore more architectural wonders, such as the domed Radcliffe Camera. Our small group will reconvene with your Trip Experience Leader around 5:30pm in the hotel lobby before dinner. Dinner: Around 6pm, we'll enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant and toast to our British Isles and Northern Ireland discoveries. Evening: We'll drive walk back to our hotel, where you have the remainder of the evening to continue making independent discoveries. Perhaps you'll retire to your room or grab a drink at a local pub. |
