Day 13
Breakfast: Served at the hotel from 6:30am-10:30am featuring hot and cold dishes. Morning: Relax at the hotel this morning and enjoy some time on your own. The day is yours to explore Port Douglas independently. Or, perhaps you'll take a half-day tour to discover the best of Australia's wildlife all in one place, from alligators, cassowaries, and wombat to koalas, emus, kangaroos, wallabies, and more. You'll also enjoy 20-minute boat cruise on Hartley’s Lagoon to view crocodiles and other wildlife up close in a coastal wetland setting. There are numerous daily wildlife presentations, along with about 1.5 miles of timber boardwalks and pathways where you can explore on your own. Lunch is included on the tour at an award-winning craft brewery and there are opportunities for photos taken while petting or holding a koala at an additional cost. Lunch: If you choose not to take the optional tour, your Trip Experience Leader will be happy to provide a recommendation for where to eat on your own after arriving in the town center, or ask one of the locals about their favorite places to eat. Or, for those on our optional tour, lunch will be at a local restaurant around 12:30pm featuring regional specialties. Afternoon: For those not on the optional tour, the remainder of your afternoon is free for you to explore independently. Those on the optional tour will arrive back at the hotel around 1:45pm to enjoy the remainder of the day on your own. Dinner: At the hotel around 6pm, featuring a three-course set menu as well as coffee and tea. Evening: The evening is free to continue exploring Port Douglas on your own. |
