Activity Note: Direct flights to Cairns are not always available. Some departures may need to fly via Sydney or Melbourne.

Breakfast: Served at the hotel featuring hot and cold dishes beginning at 6am.

Morning: At leisure. You may wish to relax, use the hotel's amenities, or prepare for the next leg of our journey. Or, you may choose to take a scenic helicopter flight, soaring out over iconic sights like Uluru and Kata Tjuta to take in the immensity and beauty of the outback desert.

Lunch: On your own. Dine in the hotel’s restaurant, or ask your Trip Experience Leader for a local suggestion.

Afternoon: Around 1:15pm, we'll transfer to the airport by shuttle for our approximately 3-hour flight to Cairns. We'll arrive in Cairns around 6:15pm and travel about 1.5 hours to our hotel in Port Douglas (a distance of approximately 40 miles). Depending on where we stay, amenities may include a full-service day spa, fitness center, restaurant, and bar. Each of its air-conditioned rooms may feature a minibar, safe, and private bath.

Flight Change: Fly from Uluru to Cairns with a layover in Sydney. We leave Uluru at 2:55 PM & arrive in Sydney at 4:45 PM. We are scheduled to spend the night in Sydney Due to this flight arriving into Cairns late, you will be given a meal voucher for you to use towards dinner at your layover airport.

Dinner: Dinner is on your own this evening. Feel free to ask your Trip Experience Leader for a recommendation.

Evening: You are free to explore Port Douglas on your own this evening, or make use of the hotel’s amenities.

Explore Port Douglas by bicycle: Get to know Port Douglas up close and personal during a leisurely bicycle ride to explore at your own pace. Discover the hidden secrets of the laid-back tropical town or ride along Four Mile Beach (no e-bikes allowed) and take some breaks for coffee and snacks along the way.

Hours: 24/7 daily.
Cost: About $18 USD for 4 hours; $22 USD for 24 hours; includes helmet and lock.

Take a deep breath and visit Port Douglas Yoga: This popular establishment has been offering classes to the local community and visitors for 30 years. Whether you've spent a year meditating on a mountain in India or never set foot in a yoga studio, the professionally-trained staff will provide you with their expert guidance to ensure that you learn some proper techniques in their beautiful tropical location and have some fun along the way.

How to get there: A 5-minute cab ride, $5 USD one way.
Hours: Classes are available daily (except Sundays). Ask your Trip Experience Leader to schedule a class if you are interested.
Cost: Varies depending on class.

Spoil yourself at the Spa at Oaks Port Douglas Resort: Treatment menu features aromatherapy massages (relaxing or deep tissue), customized facials, signature packages (including their famous pina colada, and options for men, couples and groups) and tropical beauty services (waxing and grooming, nail and hair care, and body exfoliation). You'll be so relaxed that the only thing you will be able to do after leaving the spa will be to go for a nice lunch or sip a lovely cocktail around the lagoon-style pool at the resort.
